Mall security officer Paul (played by Kevin James) dreams of becoming a police officer, but his hypoglycemia causes him to fail the New Jersey police academy exam again. Feeling dejected, Paul returns home where his mother and daughter comfort him and encourage him to find a new love. He resumes his monotonous daily job: giving directions or being teased by kids in the mall. However, today, he is deeply attracted to Amy (played by Jayma Mays) at the wig counter. Paul hopes to impress Amy, but his large size and relatively weak physique often hurt his self-esteem. That day, a group of robbers takes over the mall, planning to rob stores and the bank, while Paul, hiding in the arcade, is completely oblivious to it all. When he is left to confront the robbers unarmed, his only option is to run. However, when Paul realizes that Amy has been taken hostage, he decides to return to the mall at all costs...
