Veteran police officer Li Gong'an (played by Ge Zhi Jun) and police academy intern Zhang Lei (played by Li Zhan He) capture the fraudster Yu Tai (played by Fu Biao) and escort him back to Shaanxi. Along the way, the hot-headed Zhang Lei disapproves of Li Gong'an's lack of principles in his work and seldom shows him a good face. On the westbound bus, as night falls, the bus breaks down, and despite the driver's efforts, it remains unfixed.
