The story takes place in Glasgow in 1973. For the boy James (played by William Eadie), this summer is tough; the scorching sun makes it hard to feel energized, and a major strike by street cleaners has turned the streets into a landfill filled with rotten garbage. However, these are not the most important issues. What troubles James the most is the death of his friend Ryan (played by Thomas McTaggart), a death that is deeply connected to him. Through James's eyes, we see a filthy world, but at the same time, his confused gaze is filled with hope for the future and a longing for love. In a place unknown to anyone, a young soul is constantly entangled in pain and shaped by it, and as a price, it will blossom with the purest and most astonishing light.
