Wu Dehui (played by Andy Lau), who works at an advertising company, and his colleague Li Chi (played by Chan Bak-Cheung) travel to the mainland on business while smuggling out relics. They accidentally discover a secret cave, obtain a martial arts manual, and rescue Princess Yunluo of the Yuan Dynasty (played by Joey Wong) and her maid Xiaoman (played by Mai Siu-Hui), who had been frozen in the cave. However, they also inadvertently release the evil master Tian Can (played by Yuan Wah). The princess, who is fluent in multiple languages, thrives in the modern society, while A-Hui and A-Chi, with the help of the two ancient women, successfully learn the Buddha Palm and Seven-Spin Slash, transforming from losers to heroes. Just when the two are enjoying their success, Tian Can appears, vowing to kidnap Princess Yunluo. During one chase, Tian Can mistakenly identifies A-Chi's father (played by Lau Tak-Wah) as the hero Long Jianfei, allowing Yunluo and Xiaoman to escape successfully, but A-Hui and A-Chi are captured. With the help of the mainland's supernatural expert (played by Liu Xun), A-Hui finally masters the last move of the Buddha Palm, "Ten Thousand Buddhas Facing the Sect," defeating Tian Can and saving the princess's fate.
