In the run-up to Christmas in 1991, royal family members gathered at Sandringham Estate, but Princess Diana was late. The cold and rigid royal environment, along with her husband's affection for another, left her devoid of joy. Her rebellious actions were her silent rebellion. Yet, the royal family only wanted her to be a smiling tool, indifferent to her as a person. When her fashion designer friend was reassigned and communication with her husband failed, Diana sank deeper into despair. As Christmas dinner approached, the glamorous dresses and exquisite jewelry became barriers that imprisoned her. Unable to endure any longer, she ultimately broke free from her constraints, openly taking her two sons away from her husband and spending a regular yet joyful Christmas that belonged to her, not the Princess of Wales.
