Tells the story of an elderly man living alone and suffering from alcoholism, who experiences headaches and chest pains starting in the morning. He calls an ambulance multiple times but encounters a major car accident that day, leaving hospitals overwhelmed and making excuses to refuse his admission. A kind paramedic accompanies him to four different hospitals, watching his condition deteriorate, yet feeling powerless to help. Getting on the ambulance, being sent to the hospital, undergoing examinations, transferring hospitals, and finally, death.
