The story is divided into five chapters. During World War II, Germany occupies France, and Colonel Hans (Christoph Waltz) claims to be a "Jew Hunter." In a massacre, a young girl named Shoshanna (Mélanie Laurent) narrowly escapes. Meanwhile, eight American Jewish soldiers, led by Lieutenant Aldo (Brad Pitt), infiltrate German-occupied France to assassinate German soldiers. Their actions are stealthy and brutal, posing a significant threat to the Nazis, earning them the nickname "The Basterds." Three years later, Shoshanna arrives in Paris to inherit her aunt's cinema and meets German war hero and the star of the film "Nation’s Pride," Frederick (Daniel Brühl). Frederick falls in love with Shoshanna and persuades German Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels (Sylvester Groth) to premiere "Nation's Pride" at her cinema, with Hitler (Martin Wuttke) himself in attendance. Shoshanna plans to burn down the cinema during the screening; meanwhile, under the arrangement of German spy and actress Bridget (Diane Kruger), the Allied assassination operation "Operation Kino" will also take place on premiere night… The film was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and received seven nominations at the 82nd Academy Awards, including Best Director and Best Picture, winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor (Christoph Waltz) and the Cannes Film Festival Best Actor award.
