Ian Wyndham (played by Paul Nicholls) and his girlfriend Samantha Andrews (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt) are like any ordinary couple, busy with their lives every day and rarely spending time alone. After an argument, Peter hesitates to get into a taxi while coming to apologize, and because of this hesitation, his girlfriend chooses to leave. Less than a minute later, the taxi collides with a truck at the intersection, and his girlfriend tragically passes away. The heartbroken Peter wakes up the next morning to find that he has returned to the previous day, with his girlfriend safe and everything unfolding as before.
