Zhao Zilong (played by Yuan Biao) and Wu Guidan (played by Zeng Zhiwei) are close friends who discuss everything, but their fathers have completely different identities—one is a fortune teller and the other is a soul-collecting ghost messenger, which often leads to humorous situations. One day, Wu Guidan replaces Zhao Zilong to perform a dramatic jump-from-a-building act, resulting in an accident. Fortunately, Zhao Zilong's father prevents the ghost messenger from collecting Wu Guidan's soul; otherwise, Wu Guidan would have already lost his spirit. Wu Guidan comes back to life, and Zhao Zilong becomes a couple with a girl named A Le. In a harmonious atmosphere, Zhao Zilong's father discovers that his actions have angered other ghost messengers, ultimately leading to his murder. After Zhao Zilong's father dies, Zhao Zilong, under the influence of fate, unexpectedly begins to collect souls. It turns out that the role of the ghost messenger is passed down through generations; when one dies, the next generation must fill the vacancy. To help Zhao Zilong escape this tragic fate, Wu Guidan's father engages in a fierce battle with the soul-collecting ghost messenger.
