The 1970s, the most glamorous era in rock history, fused various bold elements such as sensuality, flamboyance, avant-garde, and radicalism into a unique rock genre. The representative of this rock revolution, Brian Slade (played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers), captivated everyone at that time. However, in 1984, he experienced an "assassination" during a performance, leading to the fall of the superstar. Arthur (played by Christian Bale), a reporter for the London Times, investigates his idol. In looking back at the lost years, he uncovers a passionate love affair between Brian and American rock singer Kurt Wild (played by Ewan McGregor). Inspired by Kurt's music, Brian creates his own glamorous style and quickly rises to fame. The two inspire each other and fall in love, but ultimately their relationship collapses due to personality conflicts. After losing Kurt, a once-thriving Brian spirals into self-destruction, staging his own "assassination" drama... Arthur encounters the despondent Kurt in a bar, who seems to be possessed by Brian's spirit. Together, they become immersed in their memories of Brian, while a strange emotion is born between them. This film was nominated for Best Costume Design at the 71st Academy Awards and received nominations for Best Artistic Contribution and the Palme d'Or at the 51st Cannes Film Festival.
