Mr. Bohm (Geoffrey Rush) is an eccentric appraiser at a prestigious auction house. Throughout his decades-long career, he has rarely made a mistake, and his greatest passion is collecting portraits of women from various periods. Billy (Donald Sutherland) helps him acquire desired artworks at low prices, while young Robert (Jim Sturgess) aids him in using technology to authenticate antiques. One day, a mysterious client named Claire (Sylvia Hoeks) enters his life with a large inheritance of antiques. Claire claims to have agoraphobia and never shows her face, but this unique form of communication gradually captivates Bohm, leading him to seek Robert's advice on pursuing women.
