Based on the novel "Identity Account" by Takuro Sakaguchi, which won the Ito Sei Literary Prize and is inspired by real characters. Starring the renowned Japanese actor Geiji Naka, it tells the story of a former gang member who is sentenced to prison for murder. After serving 13 years, he is released and vows to reintegrate into society. However, when he is thrust into this unfamiliar beautiful new world, his deep-rooted gang mentality and lack of understanding of a structured social system make his life increasingly incompatible… Directed by Miwa Nishikawa, a protégé of Hiroshi Kurosawa, the film explores individual pain and hope with humanistic care, depicting the intricate mural of contemporary Japanese society.
