Batman (George Clooney) and Robin (Chris O'Donnell) face their biggest challenge ever: "Mr. Freeze" (Arnold Schwarzenegger)! Mr. Freeze was once a scientific genius, but an accident now keeps him alive only through a life-support machine. To make matters worse, unless he keeps the entire Gotham City temperature below zero, his beloved wife will remain in a permanent coma. Mr. Freeze begins to build his own frozen kingdom, and Batman is the biggest obstacle to his plans; Mr. Freeze desperately needs to eliminate this thorn in his side. Robin gradually becomes Batman's reliable sidekick, and together they thwart Mr. Freeze's schemes time and again. However, the stunning "Poison Ivy" (Uma Thurman) enters the scene, bringing a crisis to the relationship between Robin and Batman.
