Heartbroken young man Zhao Xiaoshuai (played by Jiang Wen) is a freelance bookseller. After breaking up with his girlfriend An Hong (played by Qu Ying), he wants to reconcile and keeps chasing her. However, An Hong is dating Liu Delong (played by Liu Xinyi), the boss of an entertainment company, leading to a confrontation between the two, who see each other as rivals. In the chaos, Xiaoshuai snatches the backpack of passerby Zhang Qiusheng (played by Li Baotian) and uses it as a weapon, smashing it into a telephone pole, damaging the laptop inside. Ultimately, Xiaoshuai is injured and vows revenge, planning to crush Liu Delong's hand.
