Robot Andrew (played by Robin Williams) is the butler for the Neil family across four generations. Initially, the Neil family uses him merely as a machine, but they gradually discover that Andrew is much more than just a household appliance; he shares laughter with them, understands human customs, and experiences human emotions. When Andrew first met the Neil family's daughter as a child, he developed feelings for her, but since he lacked a feeling module, he allowed her to marry the wrong person. Without emotions, Andrew was able to live alone at the beach and build a house for himself. Until one day, he met a mechanical expert, a mad scientist, who installed the feeling module for him. It was then that Andrew began to understand what jealousy and love are. After much effort, Andrew finally fully integrates into human society. Ultimately, he is able to be with the one he loves and passes away happily in old age...
