The aging director of the FBI, Edgar Hoover (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), recounts his personal memoirs at the invitation of "Crime Document." Hoover shares with the ghostwriter significant milestones in his life since 1919: arresting leftist leaders, capturing notorious mob bosses, cracking the shocking Lindbergh kidnapping case, and more. Based on Hoover's narration, he defied opposition, restructured the FBI, introduced high-tech investigative methods, and diligently worked for the peace and stability of American society. However, on the other hand, his personal life became a part he desperately tried to conceal. While Hoover reflects on his life, many tumultuous factors still exist in American society. His long-time personal assistant Clyde Tolson (played by Armie Hammer) also appears to maintain an unusual relationship with him...
