Detective Lan Di (played by Xu Zhi An) is diligent in his work, but his meager income is insufficient to support his loved ones. Lan Di and his partner Ah Chuan (played by Lei Yu Yang) receive a tip-off about drug hiding from the gang leader Hui Shao (played by Xie Tian Hua), but during the arrest, they discover that Hui Shao had already made arrangements. The informant is threatened by the gang and leaves, causing Lan Di to confront Hui Shao's group and suffer humiliation. While stalking Hui Shao, Lan Di meets a woman named June (played by Li Li Zhen) who smashed Hui Shao's sports car. June has memory issues due to using psychoactive drugs, and the two naturally bond over their mutual animosity towards Hui Shao. Ah Chuan, who owes high-interest loans to Hui Shao, wants to escape his threats but faces retaliation. To save Ah Chuan, Lan Di kills Hui Shao. Hui Shao's father, the gang leader Jesus, claims that Lan Di must commit suicide to pay for his life, plunging Lan Di and those around him into despair...
