Based on a true story, it focuses on a team of American engineers and designers led by car designer Carroll Shelby, along with his British driver Ken Miles. Henry Ford II asks Shelby to build a brand new race car in hopes of defeating Ferrari, which has long dominated the Le Mans World Championship in 1966. Ultimately, the Ford GT40 successfully defeated Ferrari in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, claiming victory in 1967 and 1968 as well.
