U.S. OUTFEST Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival participating work Winner of the German Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival "No freebies! You pay, and I'll give you what you want!" - This is Waseem's rule! He is confident in his sexual skills and firmly believes that not being for sale means not being gay. Since fleeing Syria to Germany, Waseem has survived through sex work. One day, he encounters a wealthy German client, living in a big house, cultured, and tasteful, whose life contrasts sharply with Waseem's daily routine in the refugee camp. During their encounter, both gradually reveal interest in each other, and a series of mutual probing and defenses gradually dissolve the anxieties and fears they initially harbored. As they get to know each other better, both must confront questions of identity and trust. Immigrants in their bodies, residing among the affluent, forge an intimate relationship that begins with a transaction on the European landscape shaped by the refugee crisis.
