Abetow (Claudio Bisio 饰) has worked at the post office in his town for his entire life. Because of this job, his relationship with his wife Silvia (Angela Finocchiaro 饰) has become very tense. Silvia hopes Abetow can work harder to be transferred to the big city of Milan, but Abetow's efforts seem to backfire. Instead of getting a promotion, he suffers a demotion and is transferred to a remote branch in the southern region. As a northerner, living in the south is a terrifying thing for Abetow, but soon he discovers that the residents of this small southern town are very friendly and kind. He even makes a friend, Mattia (Alessandro Siani 饰), while his wife is still completely unaware of all this.
