Adolescence is full of sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy experiences; perhaps everyone has made some mistakes during their own adolescence. In the story, Da Ji (played by Luo Liwei) is an unemployed youth from Cheung Chau, while his younger brother, Xi Ji, is an outstanding student, which causes Da Ji to be looked down upon by their grandmother. He loves to daydream and often loiters on the streets with his equally idle friends, A Long (played by Zhang Haolong), May May (played by Wu Riyuan), Suki (Race), and Da Jiu (played by Huang Haoran), becoming the subject of gossip in the neighborhood. Their grandmother (played by Roland) wants to teach Da Ji a lesson but accidentally falls, wrongly accusing Da Ji of harming her. Under pressure, Da Ji, with the help of his friends, "takes the risk" and heads to Shenzhen, sparking a major life event... In Cheung Chau, there are five young people—Suki, May May, Da Jiu, A Long, and Da Ji—who have different personalities but share one common point… they all live under a fate that others look down upon. Suki's father is involved in the triads, May May's father is imprisoned for bribery, Da Jiu's mother was once a prostitute, A Long is an academically challenged youth, and Da Ji is the result of his parents committing a forbidden act when they were thirteen or fourteen years old. The five young people support and care for each other during this confused and lost adolescence, facing pressures and impacts from love, finances, and family. They are resilient and determined, striving to rise above their circumstances. In this extraordinary adolescence, they first recognize their fate, then accept it calmly, courageously confront it, and ultimately overcome destiny, living brilliantly—regardless of whether the whole world appreciates them or not and even if everyone looks down on them, at least they are themselves!
