Because of the marigold, Qianqian found her own simple happiness; because of the marigold, Peiyin and Zigeng transitioned from love to marriage. The marigold traditionally symbolizes parting, but for them, it became the best token of never parting. Peiyin's boyfriend Lin Weizhi married someone new in the United States, while Peiyin went to work as a tutor for Qianqian at Zigeng's home, and after spending time together, she fell in love with Zigeng. Songchao met Qianqian through Peiyin, and to get closer to her, he learned about her favorite flowers and helped her build a greenhouse. His efforts touched Qianqian, and they fell in love. At this point, Weizhen, Songchao's former partner, appeared, claiming to be pregnant with Songchao's child, but it turned out Weizhen was lying. Qianqian loved Songchao dearly and asked Weizhen to let him go... The film "Marigold" was produced by Qiongyao Superstar Film Company on March 29, 1980, directed by Liu Lili, starring Lin Qingxia and Qin Han. It is a film adapted from Qiongyao's novel, which was often referred to as “Qiongyao's movie” at the time. It not only performed well in Taiwan but also gained popularity in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, the United States, and Canada. As long as directors or producers purchased Qiongyao's novels, they could “sell” the film rights globally, ensuring their projects could smoothly move into production. Thus, not only her long and medium-length novels, but even her short stories were turned into films.
