In an era where coal was the main fuel, Kuniga Tetsuzo (played by Okada Junichi) predicted the future potential of oil and subsequently started a petroleum business in Kitakyushu. Faced with severe obstacles from domestic competitors and oil giants from Europe and America, he remained undeterred, using unconventional ideas and remarkable action, as well as valuing his subordinates, to expand into a new business landscape. Even after Japan's defeat, Tetsuzo's steadfast demeanor never wavered. However, the shocking "incident" that would deeply impact the Japanese people ultimately occurred! When faced with hostility from the oil giants and when oil supply routes were blocked, leaving him with no oil to sell, Tetsuzo made a crazy decision—he secretly dispatched the last giant oil tanker "Nisshormaru" to Iran, aiming to import oil directly from there, an action tantamount to facing off against the British who controlled Iran. Ignoring his subordinates' objections and standing up to the oil giants, he launched a difficult campaign. Could Nisshormaru evade the British fleet and successfully return to Japan? And why is Tetsuzo referred to as a "pirate"?
