This is a typical American heroic film. During the Vietnam War, many young people like Vincent (played by Anthony Barrile) with ideals of participating in the war or various reasons for being drafted arrived at the airborne division. Although they were all part of the same unit, the atmosphere in the troops was not harmonious due to the pervasive racial discrimination at the time. On this day, the airborne division received a mission to capture Hill 937. When Vincent's airborne unit landed at the designated location, they discovered that the defending North Vietnamese army was already prepared for battle. Thus began an exceptionally arduous tug-of-war. The North Vietnamese army had a significant advantage in numbers, and the American forces suffered heavy casualties. However, to accomplish the mission, the American soldiers of different races, who originally had grievances against each other, cast aside their past prejudices and worked together to advance. After 11 attacks, they finally took Hill 937. Because the ground was littered with corpses, the soldiers referred to it as "Hamburger Hill."
