Finland is the closest European country to Japan, taking only ten hours by plane. Sachiue (played by Satomi Kobayashi) runs a Japanese restaurant called "Seagull Restaurant" in the picturesque capital of Helsinki all by herself. She hopes to win customers' hearts with simple yet warm traditional hand rolls, but unfortunately, things don't go as planned, and the restaurant is often empty. Later, Midori (played byiri Katagiri) and Masako (played by Masako Matsumoto), for different reasons, come to help out. Alongside them are young handsome customers fascinated by Japanese culture who initially just stop by to look, but are later drawn in by the aroma of cinnamon rolls. There are also Finnish old ladies who remember their time working there, as well as middle-aged men who can't forget the old coffee machine, and women who seriously inquire about how to make a scarecrow to curse their husbands. These interesting and real people weave a light friendship around Seagull Restaurant.
