During the Northern Dynasties, various forces began to divide and the jianghu was filled with chaos. "Southern Blade" Li Zheng (played by Hu Bing) established the 48 Villages in Hunan, taking in down-and-out martial artists and choosing to live in seclusion. However, with Li Zheng's death, the prestigious families of the jianghu began to decline. Years later, Li Zheng's granddaughter Zhou Fei (played by Zhao Liying) is unexpectedly saved by a young man claiming to be Xie Yun (played by Wang Yibo) at the Xi Mo River, and the two develop an unbreakable bond. Half a year later, Zhou Fei and Xie Yun meet again in the dark prison of Huo Family Fort, only to be pursued by several elite members of the dark forces of the jianghu known as "Disha Mountain Villa," thus involving them in a grand conspiracy. Guided by veterans of the jianghu, Zhou Fei hones her swordsmanship and bravely fights against the Disha, quells rebellion, captures the enemy king, and saves refugees, believing that "the brave will triumph when faced with adversity." Xie Yun continuously stands by Zhou Fei's side, offering advice on caution and courage. Together, they face various turbulent situations in the jianghu, remaining loyal to one another through life and death. Representing a new generation of jianghu heroes, Zhou Fei and Xie Yun ultimately grow into true "gentlemen of the world," with Zhou Fei becoming a legendary "Southern Blade" female master.
