"Happy Life Forever" tells the story of an environmental improvement and the construction of a socialist new countryside in the modern town of Fen Shui in Shanxi. After stepping back from his position, Wan Yuejin takes on the task of cleaning up garbage assigned by the county to make Fen Shui more beautiful, leaving the relatively easier task of afforestation to the young secretary Ma Yanfang.
