The story takes place in 1939. Franta (played by Ondrej Vetchý) is a Czech pilot who, amidst turmoil and war, forms a deep friendship with a young man named Karel (played by Krystof Hádek). During an accident, Karel's plane crashes, but he escapes unharmed and, fortunate enough, meets the beautiful and gentle Susan (played by Tara Fitzgerald). In the midst of war, the relationship between Susan and Karel quickly grows beyond mere friendship. After returning to the military, Karel shares his legendary experiences with Franta and introduces Franta to Susan. Unexpectedly for Karel, Susan deeply falls in love with the steady and handsome Franta, causing a rift in the friendship between Karel and Franta.
