The story takes place in a beauty salon in Lebanon, revolving around the daily lives of five women. Raya (played by Nadine Labaki), Nisrin, and Rima work at the same beauty salon, while Jamal is a regular customer. Nearby, a seamstress named Rose lives with her elderly sister Lily, who suffers from dementia. They differ in age, personality, and life experiences, each having their own unique stories. Raya struggles with her feelings for a married man and faces his unsuspecting wife; Nisrin, about to get married, decides to undergo hymen reconstruction surgery at the hospital; Rima, a lesbian, develops a crush on a beautiful customer; Jamal, a former actress, has difficulty accepting her gradual aging; and the elderly Rose sacrifices love to care for her sister.
