Italian-American brothers Pietro (played by Stanley Tucci) and Scando (played by Tony Shalhoub) open an Italian restaurant in New Jersey. They harbor dreams of the American Dream, hoping to achieve wealth and success through the restaurant opening and attracting customers. However, despite their ambition, the brothers face indifference from patrons. Watching other restaurants thrive while their own faces the threat of closure, they start brainstorming ways to save their business. They decide to attract more customers with a splendid dinner and go to great lengths to invite celebrities to participate. This plan seems perfect, yet on the day of the banquet, a string of unexpected events occurs.
