Zhang Jin (played by Fan Shaohuang) is a notorious gang thug. One day, after being released from prison, he is chased and shot at in a restaurant, with his assailant quickly fleeing the scene. Zhang Jin, who is not meant to die, survives and, in his panic, begins to question who wants him dead. After careful consideration, he decides to investigate alone. First, he hires Yang Yan (played by Wu Zhenyu) as his taxi driver, thus intertwining their fates. Zhang Jin is puzzled about who he has offended to the extent that someone is after his life. He narrows it down to three enemies from before his imprisonment, but ultimately dismisses them as the true culprits.
