A sudden phenomenon of massive gold loss occurs worldwide, while black market gold trading thrives. The British intelligence suspects that the world's wealthy, Goldfinger, is involved in black market gold trading; he owns a large bank in Geneva, where many countries have significant gold reserves. 007 Bond (Sean Connery) begins an investigation into Goldfinger. Bond tracks Goldfinger to Geneva, discovering his secret of exporting gold; he remelts gold to create gold bars by using it to build car bodies. Bond is discovered by Goldfinger's henchmen, who capture him. In an unexpected turn, Bond learns of Goldfinger's shocking plan: he intends to use an aircraft to disperse poison gas, killing the bank's garrison, then blow up the bank. By using a small nuclear bomb, he aims to irradiate the gold reserves of various countries, making them unusable for circulation, thus allowing the black market gold trading to gain enormous profits, more than tenfold! Although Bond has learned Goldfinger's entire plan, he is imprisoned and unable to alert the outside world. Will Goldfinger's conspiracy ultimately succeed?
