The talented yet misunderstood engineer Giorgio falls to the depths of his life; he gets fired, his parents stop talking to him, and after he accidentally gets himself and his girlfriend arrested (a long story...), his girlfriend leaves him. Fed up with the dull Italian society of the late 1960s, Giorgio devises an impossible plan: he wants to build his own island in the sea. With the help of a group of revolutionaries and outcasts, the Republic of Rose Island is established and declares independence, with Giorgio appointed as president. However, their team's values and adaptability will be put to the test as the Italian Prime Minister considers Giorgio's ideal island to be Italy's number one enemy. "Rose Island," directed by Sydney Sibilia (the "Breaking Bad" trilogy) and produced by Grøenlandia ("The First King"), is a comedy inspired by true events, filled with a spirit of rebellion.
