The girl Giovana (played by Tess Amorim) and the boy Leo (played by Ghilherme Lobo) are best friends. Although Leo is blind, he has always longed for independence and dislikes excessive protection from his parents. The new transfer student Gabriel (played by Fabio Audi) accidentally enters Leo's world and changes the dynamics between Leo and Giovana. Leo is anxious about falling in love with Gabriel, while Giovana is saddened by Leo's growing distance. Gabriel's naive responses further complicate the world of the boys and girls... The film "Love, Simple" is the debut feature of Brazilian director Daniel Ribeiro, adapted from his 2010 short film "Love, Hand in Hand," with the original cast returning. "Love, Hand in Hand" won Best Short Film awards at 11 film festivals. "Love, Simple" still tells a story of love that transcends vision through holding hands, but compared to the short film, the focus shifts from sexual awakening to the protagonists' independent growth. Independence becomes the core of the film, which includes the free will to choose whom to love. "Love, Simple" won the FIPRESCI Prize in the Panorama section at the 64th Berlin Film Festival, as well as the Teddy Award, the highest honor for LGBT films.
