Jiradee, the daughter of a Thai royal noble family, has always been sheltered and unable to pursue love in her youth. After her mother's death, her father arranges for her to marry a wealthy old marquis. After the wedding, Jiradee and the old marquis go on vacation to Japan, where the marquis invites his nephew Nopong (played by Ken Kane Theeradeth Wonpuapan), who is studying in Japan, to be their guide. During their travels in Japan, the young Nopong is deeply attracted by Jiradee's exceptional charm, leading to an unforgettable romance between them. After the trip, Jiradee returns to Thailand, while Nopong, unable to endure the pain of longing, writes her many letters but only receives one reply, in which Jiradee simply urges him to study hard. Later, the old marquis falls seriously ill with tuberculosis; his sons avoid him, and only Jiradee quietly attends to him. The old marquis eventually dies from the illness, and Jiradee contracts the same disease, but she continues to seek treatment while also painting. Seven years later, Nopong returns home after completing his studies, and three months later he gets married. Jiradee then refuses treatment, and on her deathbed, she gifts Nopong a painting along with a note revealing her long-hidden wish... "In the Painting's Affection" is a famous Thai love movie, adapted from the novel of the same name by Thai author Sibulapra, and it has received widespread acclaim after being made into a film.
