In a city’s village, a group fight broke out due to forced land requisition and demolition. Villager Chang Qing was arrested by the public security authorities for accidentally killing a demolition worker during the fight, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among the villagers, who reported collusion between officials and businesspeople and demanded serious investigation into corrupt officials profiting illegally from the situation. The city’s prosecutor Zhang Yun (played by Che Xiao), while reviewing the intentional injury case against Chang Qing, discovered numerous contradictions in the arrest materials. She cooperated with Gu Changfeng (played by Lin Baoyi), head of the anti-corruption bureau investigating the dereliction of duty behind the village incident.
