Roger Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) was once a battlefield journalist navigating through gunfire; now he is employed by the CIA as an undercover agent in Iraq, tracking the infamous terrorist Al-Saleem (Alon Aboutboul). His superior, Ed Hoffman (Russell Crowe), commands from afar in the United States, using his computer to oversee operations. Through the confession of a reluctant suicide bomber, Roger learns that Al-Saleem is planning a new wave of terrorist attacks. During the ensuing conflict, Roger's assistant is tragically killed, and he himself is injured in multiple places. Just as he is still recovering, Hoffman sends him to Oman. Meanwhile, rumors are circulating from adversaries about a collaboration with the U.S. military, putting Roger in grave danger while he is already in a perilous situation...
