Beautiful girl Mona Gray (played by Jessica Alba) has been fond of numbers since childhood. Her math-loving father (John Shea) leads her into a colorful numerical kingdom, until one day, her father loses his former brilliance due to a strange illness, and the door to Mona's spiritual world gradually closes. Her mother, unwilling to have this quirky daughter at home, helps Mona find a job as a math teacher at a local elementary school. Although she has no relevant certificates or experience, Mona bravely steps into the classroom and becomes a teacher to a group of third-graders. During this period, she meets lonely little girl Lisa (Sophie Nyweide) and eccentric nature teacher Ben Smith (Chris Messina), and Mona's life begins to change...
