Eight-year-old Aida and her parents lead a comfortable life in the city, but when her father refuses to cooperate with the Nazi army invading Czechoslovakia, the whole family is forced to move to her father's rural hometown. For adults, World War II means suffering and death, while for Aida and her friends, the war seems far away. As the army invades the countryside, Aida's family finds the courage to face the war, intertwining the worlds of adults and children.
