In 2045, as the polar ice caps melt, the last remaining oil and natural gas on Earth are discovered in northern Canada. The town of Borealis in the film is a small town near the Arctic, where many people eager to claim these valuable resources gather, including entrepreneur and hotel mogul Vic Carboneau.
