Simon (played by Bill Skarsgård) is a boy with Asperger's syndrome; he is a physics genius but cannot stand physical contact with others. He suffers from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder, needing everything to be done according to plan. When he is unhappy, he hides in a metal bucket, treating it like a space capsule, refusing to come out. Simon's guardian is his brother Sam (played by Martin Wallström), who has been the only person to understand him throughout his life. Sam's girlfriend, unable to bear living with the two brothers, angrily decides to break up with him.
