Bai Tianyu (played by Chan Hung-chi), the head of the Divine Sword Sect, unexpectedly dies tragically at the Plum Blossom Monastery in the border town. Twenty years pass in the blink of an eye, and Bai Tianyu's son, Fu Hongxue (played by Ti Lung), grows up, mastering incredible martial arts, vowing to avenge his father. Thus, he embarks on a journey to the border town to uncover the truth. Ye Kai (played by Chan Hung-chi) is the son of Bai Tianyu and Hua Baifeng; by chance, he encounters Fu Hongxue, and they join forces. Ye Kai falls in love with Ma Fangling (played by Yuen Kit-ying), the daughter of the leader of the Wanma Hall, Ma Kongqun, but Ma Fangling is interested in the taciturn Fu Hongxue, leading the three into a complex love triangle. Ultimately, the two discover that the one responsible for Bai Tianyu's death is none other than his trusted friend, Ma Kongqun. An enraged Fu Hongxue seeks to kill Ma Kongqun, but is stopped by Ye Kai.
