Cai Weijie (played by Ah Niu), a Malaysian engineer, moves to Singapore for work. His fiancée, Zhixin (played by Jiang Ruolin), comes from a wealthy Cantonese family in Singapore. The cultural background and the disparity in wealth create significant challenges for the couple. The future father-in-law imposes strict wedding demands on his prospective son-in-law, and Weijie, fearing disobedience, agrees to hold an extravagant wedding in Singapore. On the wedding day, all the red envelopes prepared by Weijie mysteriously disappear, leading him to gamble at a casino in hopes of making a profit, only to lose everything. To cover up his mistake, he tells one lie after another, spiraling into an uncontrollable situation. Zhixin notices Weijie's odd behavior and becomes very angry. Weijie's father, Ah Shi (played by Chen Jianbin), argues with his son over wedding preparations, and in a fit of anger, storms back to the hotel, only to encounter an unexpected accident on the way. Weijie's emotions plummet from high to low...
