In 2003, the Iraq War broke out. The Saddam government was severely damaged, and weapons of mass destruction (WMD) became a strong excuse for the U.S. to invade Iraq. A small squad led by Roy Miller (played by Matt Damon) was tasked with searching for WMDs in Iraq, but countless searches yielded nothing, causing Miller to doubt the source of the intelligence. During one mission, he encountered a local one-legged man named Fahadi, who informed him that key Iraqi figures were gathering in a certain location. In an unexpected turn, Miller discovered that Al-Rawi (played by Yigal Naor), who appeared on a wanted poster, was among them, and Al-Rawi seemed to have a complex relationship with the U.S. government. Ignoring warnings, Miller launched an independent investigation, revealing that the so-called WMDs were nothing more than a lie concealing numerous ugly truths…This film is adapted from "Imperial Life in the Emerald City: An Oral History of the Green Zone" by Rajiv Chandrasekaran, a correspondent for The Washington Post in Baghdad.
