Once a shining star, Veronica (played by Rosel Zech) has now become a forgotten relic of the past. Sports journalist Robert (played by Hilmar Thate), once a fan of Veronica, finds her now trapped in a world of alcohol and drugs. He decides to help her. Veronica lives in the clinic of Dr. Katz (played by Annemarie Düringer), where many others like her are also down-and-out and pitiful.
