Sergey (played by Valentin Popov), Nikolai (played by Nikolai Gubenko), and Slava (played by Stanislav Lyubshin) are childhood friends who grew up together. As they grew up, they all chose to serve their country in the military, and after their discharge, the three embarked on different paths in life.
