Yuan Ningjing (played by Song Jia) is a psychologist. She had a sister named Yuan Ningying (played by Yan Zhuoling), who, unfortunately, was kidnapped by criminals and has been missing, a devastating blow that caused the Yuan family to collapse. Twelve years later, Yuan Ningying, now grown up and unharmed, returns to the Yuan family. Amidst the joy and relief, Yuan Ningjing feels that something is amiss. As it turns out, although the returning Yuan Ningying appears harmless, her heart has already rotted. Her only purpose in returning is to take revenge on the Yuan family. The sensitive Yuan Ningjing sees through it all but cannot find anyone she can trust, except for her boyfriend, Deng Sir (played by Lam Ka Tung), who stands by her side. Together, they begin an intricate investigation into the twelve years of Yuan Ningying's disappearance.
