The movie "Butterfly on the Shoulder" is adapted from Fu Yupeng's online article "Is There a Butterfly on Your Shoulder?". The story takes place on a small island threatened by a deadly infectious disease. Renowned biologist Yan Guo (played by Chen Kun) is focused on research, hoping to find a cure, but he himself is afflicted by the disease, facing life-threatening consequences. His fiancée, Baby (played by Jiang Yiyan), makes a pact with a mysterious being: to become a butterfly for three years in exchange for Yan Guo's recovery.
