The film "All the Money in the World" is adapted from a sensational kidnapping case involving a wealthy family: the grandson of the world's richest man, Paul Getty (played by Christopher Plummer), is kidnapped by the mafia, who demand a ransom of $17 million from his mother, Gail (played by Michelle Williams). Recently divorced, Gail is unable to pay such a hefty ransom and turns to the Getty family for help. However, the miserly old Getty refuses to pay the ransom for his grandson (played by Charlie Plummer). In desperation, the kidnappers cut off the hostage's ear and send it to the Getty family. Heartbroken, Gail, with the help of former CIA agent Fletcher Chase (played by Mark Wahlberg), tries to break this deadlock and rescue her son...
