Newspaper reporter Yuen Yong-ding (played by Leslie Cheung) encounters a woman named Ju Hua (played by Anita Mui) who comes to place a missing person ad, and he inadvertently discovers that this alluring woman is actually a ghost. Fifty years ago, she was a top-notch prostitute who met a wealthy young man, Twelve Young Master Chan Cheng-bong (played by Leslie Cheung).
